Decaf Assam Loose Leaf Black Tea
In 1835 the first cultivated tea plants were planted in India, specifically in Assam. With rich soil and monsoon rains Assam is one of the worlds most prolific tea producing regions. Harvest runs from April to November. The second flush is the sweet spot, harvested from May to June it has the benefit of the monsoon season and is bursting with flavour as a result. That's when this tea is picked. You may not recognise the name Assam, but this tea often forms the base of English breakfast blends and Masala chai.
This tea is decaffeinated using the CO2 method which uses pressurised carbon dioxide to gently bind with the caffeine in the leaf and remove it. This process is more arduous than some but helps to preserve the flavour of the tea.

Just my cup of tea! Verified Purchase
Couldn't find decaf Assam anywhere locally. Always drink Assam and needed to go to caffeine free. Makes a perfect cuppa.

Why I love the tea-enthusiasts and I've only known they exist since Friday (5 days), wandering around the Northumberland County Fair I stumbled across this cute tea stall. Knowing it's rare to find decaf tea leaves I almost walked straight past.....but was pleasantly surprised to see decaf options available! Sadly the decaf Assam wasn't available on Friday, but after a lovely chat with the tea enthusiasts I was directed to their website and was able to purchase direct. Today I came home to find not only the Assam tea, but a fabulous sample tea to try as well. I have not been disappointed! The Assam tea is fabulous, so flavourful and strong without the intense caffeine side effects. I will 100% be ordering from them again for myself and family! The best part about them, despite the wonderful tea is their passion for their customers, they were happy to chat and show me decaf options on Friday and bothered to note that my online order was decaf so the sample sent along was the same. Sounds simple, but it's certainly not the experience I've found or had with larger brands...tea enthusiasts thank you!
