Keemun Panda #1 - Chinese Black Tea
This tea has enjoyed massive worldwide popularity since the early 19th century and is traditionally used in breakfast blends.
Lighter in body than some black teas, but still a robust cup. Keemun produces a very clean, aromatic cup with notes of stone fruits, fragrant woods and mellow red wines.
A lower tannin content results in only a mild astringency. Produced in Keemun county, Anhui province, China. Tea from this region is a real treat and we believe that this Panda #1 grade to be one of the best available.
Serving Suggestion: Dan prefers his black, Liza enjoys a small splash of milk.

Many years ago Keemun was the first tea I was introduced to that wasn't Typhoo, and I've been drinking it on and off ever since. It's usually a well-behaved, no surprises tea, but this one is in a class of its own. Many teas are described as having a full flavour, but this one truly does, and it's a beautiful flavour too. I'm never quite sure what a multi-layered flavour is, but for this one, what it says on the packet is spot on. It's full of flavour, but gentle with it.
