Preparation: 1 heaped teaspoon of tea. 100°C for 5-7 minutes
Description: Grown in the pure, moist mountain air of the spring and early summer season gives this peppermint some of the highest volatile oil counts of any member of the mint family. Generally, the second cut is the most flavorful, coolest and aromatic. Peppermint tea has a naturally refreshing flavour evocative of a luxurious treat but with none of the negative calories or sugars and loads of added health benefits. Its versatility makes it ideal for both hot or iced tea and it makes an excellent cocktail ingredient when you need to add a little extra punch to your Gin or Vodka.
Serving Suggestion: This mint can be blended with lots of our other teas, Liza adds peppermint to camomile tea, Adrian adds it to Formosa Gunpowder. Kat drinks this sweetened with a little sugar. For iced drinks either cold brew overnight or brew as for hot but use more tea leaves to make a more intense flavour.
My wife loves it
We first discovered this peppermint tea at a small cafe in Middleton-in-Teesdale and my wife thought it was best that she had ever tasted. She still does.
